it does not matter. The people in charge in Taiwan know that China will never invade. Imagine, PLA soldiers, product of a one child policy, dying on the beaches and streets of ROC. That is acceptable to many families in the PRC. That is why the Taiwanese per capita GDP spend on defence is much lower then Singapore. Taiwan has the industrial capacity and technical knowledge to mass produce weapons, missiles, drones, tanks, etc. But they don't do it because they think it's a waste of money. Singapore on the other hand is producing at least 3 lines of AFV. Taiwan even canceled their NS a few years ago. Reunification by force is a scare tactic by the Chinese. The ROC knows it's not happening. My experience in the shitty SAF and limited to shit like Operation Golden Sand, already illustrates clearly the difficulties of an amphibious operation under fire.
