I have an elderly relative who migrated many decades ago to Canada who lives like that. After his wife died, he stopped caring and was soon too frail to clean his house any longer. The place is dirty, dusty and full of clothing and shoes that have not been worn since the 1980s.

Would you buy this flat if sold to you at a very cheap price? I'll take it and hack up the whole place and transform it to a designer unit.

no big deal lah ... moi HDB estate got a few hoarder units .... walk pass the corridor outside their units can smell and see lots of insects .... all the silver serpents and government ministers are powerless when engaging them. :whistling:

Think it’s a rental flat. Likely the person is too old to clean up

After a certain age, and especially after the spouse has passed on, such people stop caring as they lack the mental and physical will to carry out most tasks.
