LTA : "We advise car buyers to be prudent in bidding for COEs." Individual can control bidding price meh?

Every month collect $1b for no costs….huat ahhhh !!!!!

Van being used to transport staff & worker where family usually doesn't buy. Now phv business using car to transport people is competing with people for COE & LTA is incapable to control. Where is the Taxi category? Why PHV is not under taxi category for public transport? Or they had blurred the line between personal & business use?

For every registered PHV, shouldnt the equal number of COE be released to make up for cat A , CatB for cars use for Pte not public?
Taxi and petrol only cars will face out.
Certain places like park and sentosa island petrol only cars will be ban.

As long as family car buyers have to compete with PHV buyers, COE prices will forever soar.
PAP is against families.

The advice comes from LTA at a time not necessarily marked by high COE bids but rather during an uncertain period influenced by the US tariff implementation and government shutdown, which could potentially lead to economic instability. This uncertainty may affect consumer confidence and spending patterns, adding to the challenges faced by various industries.

COE prices every month go up and instead of trying to solve problem put blame on car owners.

If they really concerned then put a ceiling cap on the COE price @ $140k.

There will never be any increase in cars on the road as new COEs issued is to replace the expired ones. So nothing to do with curbing car population anymore.

The actual reason why our COE prices keep reaching for the sky.

The Land Transport Authority said the higher COE prices this round are partly because the last tender was three weeks ago instead of the usual two. There was also a car roadshow at the end of September.
"More broadly, the lower costs of EVs especially from China, as well as the reduction of incentives for cleaner energy vehicles, have also added to demand," LTA said.

The wayang oppo should ask how many buyers of COE are new citizens recently come to singapore in the last 10 years. I would be shocked if more then 50% of COE successful bids are by native born sinkies.

Anyone who needs to worry about COE price, should not even be thinking of buying a car.
I fully agree that the price of a car and the COE are inextricably linked. The govt wants to price out marginal car owners, so only the rich have the right to own a car or 2 in S'pore. Is it any wonder why S'poreans are so materialistic? We have to be millionaires to enjoy a middle class lifestyle in other developed countries.

Aiya car is a luxury, no money just take Grab.

Funny when ppl equate young families = die die must have car.

Think about more practical things like earn more money better la!

Also against the middle income people. Basically pmet.
The middle income earners can no longer afford to purchase new cars. I have a colleague who buys 8 to 9-year-old used cars every 1 to 2 years as he needs it for work and his family (including elderly parents and in-laws).
