Overpaying politicians does not make them honest

Goh CT triggered many S'poreans when he declared: "So I look for Ministers, anybody who wants to be paid more than half a million, I won’t take him. You are going to end up with very very mediocre people, who can’t even earn a million dollars outside to be our minister. Think about that. Is it good for you, or is it worse for us in the end?" The "very very mediocre people who can't earn a million dollars" appears to be how Goh and his PAP colleagues think and behave.
Wooden Goh is one of the greediest minister in singapore
It's very obvious that in SG's societal culture. Asking valid or in fact any question that undermines the status quo leads to one's doom.
Many local SMEs, Singaporean in middle to higher management inherited this mentality.
As the saying goes, the rot starts from the top.
Telling the truth or attempting to improve step on many toes and impede many people's career prospects and material benefits.

Unfortunately, you're right. In SG's top to bottom specific hierarchy, the leopard never changes its spot for a lack of a metaphor for it.
In fact, we already reached our peak over 20 years ago. Failure to listen to bottom grievances will always lead to the collapse of the civilisation.
Read late roman empire and tang dynasty. Apparently, history will always repeat itself.

Group thinking (Inbreeding) already deeply entrenched in the system. The network of inter related mutual interests and material benefits are intertwined (I scratch your back,u scratch my back) such that no one want to destabilise the boat just to maintain the rotten system.

Goh CT declared that if anyone does not earn at least $1 million per year, he is mediocre. I guess that is why Goh's son tried to earn that much in order not to be despised by his old man.

This is why groupthink is so deeply entrenched in the PAP. No minister dares to tell the PM and SM to "Fu-k Off" because they fear losing their million dollar pay package.

Employers will work you like a dog if they pay you $15K, but our Ministers get paid between $1 - $2.2 million per annum to rule by consensus (groupthink). This will spell the steep decline of S'pore in the near future.

Bosses only want to hear the "good stuff". Disagreement is seen as dissent, disrespect and not being a team player. I once dared to disagree with my CEO, and his sharp response was: "So you think that you are smarter than me. Do you want to be CEO?" He is a carbon copy of our ministers and leaders in general in SG. Such insecure leaders do not want to surround themselves with intelligent subordinates, but with minions.

"When you raise ministers’ salaries to the point that they’re earning millions of dollar, every minister - no matter how much he wants to turn up and tell Hsien Loong off or whatever - will hesitate when he thinks of his million-dollar salary. Even if he wants to do it, his wife will stop him." - Retired Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, Ngiam Tong Dow.

It's already doomed. Anyway, don't worry Rome didnt fall overnight. By then, all of us will be dead when this happens. Also, PAP will not be destroyed by opposition, but among themselves. Just like the late western Rome empire. haha. You should read about it, it's literal shit fest.

Insecure bosses cause a levelling down of talent in their companies. The talented staff leave in anger while the average or even incompetent ones remain; they are promoted to a level where they are unable to function, but remain safe as they pose no threat to the boss.

May not make them honest but sure make them rich.

It is a natural human reaction to feel a sense of unfairness when we are striving to do good/be honest and are met with struggles, while others who seem to have no moral compass are living lives of ease and success. This leads to feelings of envy, bitterness and resentment. We may think, "I am doing everything right, and yet I'm suffering. Greedy politicians are doing everything wrong and even dishonest, and they are thriving. What's the point of my efforts?"

Paying politicians obscene wages with the notion that it discourages them from stealing is a simplistic and flawed approach to ensuring honesty in governance. While adequate compensation can help discourage some forms of corruption driven by monetary needs, it does not guarantee honesty or ethical behaviour.

That means you should be arrested for speaking against LKY. Period

You must be an imbecile if you believe that I am specifically criticising LKY. We just have a difference of opinion. Read and learn!
No. You are against exactly what LKY say. Low wages for politicians lead to corruption.

If you against LKY, you against 70% singkees. You have to be arrested for treason
