The reason why cyclists pay zero maintenance of the roads is because they cause zero wear and tear. It is cars and other heavy vehicles that create the high overheads necessary to maintain the transport network.

My point exactly it's the cars that need the fancy infrastructure bikes are fine with gravel tracks which is why bikes don't have to pay road tax. Bikes came first and therefore have priority.
