The leaders cannot make any money if there is peace. You make much more when war breaks out. Its all about business.

That's a small price to pay to put an end to the arab moslem palestinian problem. Erase gaza, find a political compromise with West Bank. Good deal!

The last thing Israel wants is house to house fighting and FIBUA in the Gaza strip. Way to many casualties. I think they will just keep pounding them with arty and air strikes.
Israel will also put them under siege for a few weeks before moving in. No food, water, electricity for 2-3 weeks. See how many of them can still stand, let alone fight.
Israeli hostages will suffr too.
