"Eternal Flame" is a song by The Bangles which became a hit single in 1989, peaking at number one in the charts in six countries, including Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. It was written by popular songwriters Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly and the Bangles' own Susanna Hoffs.

It was a ballad, unlike the rest of the garage-band pop songs on their album Everything. Co-writer Billy Steinberg describes it as "The Beatles meet The Byrds".

The song was inspired by two eternal flames: one for Elvis Presley that Michael Steele saw when the band was at Graceland, and one at a local synagogue in Palm Springs which Steinberg attended as a child. Steinberg recalled to Songfacts: "Susanna was talking about The Bangles having visited Graceland, and she said there was some type of shrine to Elvis that included some kind of eternal flame. As soon as those words were mentioned, I immediately thought of the synagogue in the town of Palm Springs, California where I grew up. I remember during our Sunday school class they would walk us through the sanctuary. There was one little red light and they told us it was called the eternal flame

A cover version by Atomic Kitten was released as a single and reached number one for two weeks on the UK charts in 2001. Susanna Hoffs liked the cover version and subsequently teamed up with Atomic Kitten and once again with Eternal Flame writers Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly and wrote "Love Doesn't Have to Hurt" for their next album Feels So Good.

Pipes of Peace--- Paul McCartney
1983.

A video was shot for "Pipes of Peace", depicting the famous 1914 Christmas truce between British and German troops. It portrays a British and a German soldier, both played by McCartney, who meet up in No Man's Land and exchange photos of their loved ones while other soldiers fraternise and play football. When a shell blast forces the two armies to retreat to their own trenches both men realise that they still have each-other's pictures.

"Together We Are Beautiful" was a popular single by Fern Kinney.
Written by Ken Leray and produced by Caron Whitsett, Wolf Stephenson and Tommy Couch "Together We Are Beautiful" was the first and only #1 single in the UK for Fern Kinney. Originally a b-side to "Baby, Let Me Kiss You" the song was flipped after DJs picked up on it. The song reached #1 on the UK singles chart for a single week in March 1980.

"How Do I Live" is a 1997 song, written by Diane Warren. It was released originally by LeAnn Rimes and shortly afterward by Trisha Yearwood.
The song was originally intended for release as a single for the 1997 action blockbuster Con Air soundtrack. Warren wrote the song for Rimes to sing. The film producers felt that Rimes' version had too much of a pop feeling to it, and requested that she re-record it to fit their standards. She refused, and the producers chose Trisha Yearwood to record the song. Her more country-style version was released on May 27, 1997 and appeared in the film. When Rimes heard of the release, she quickly released her version.

In 1998, for the first time in history, the Grammy Awards nominated two artists for the same song in the same category. Directly following LeAnn Rimes' performance of the song, Trisha Yearwood won the Grammy Award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance. Yearwood also performed the song at the Country Music Association for which she won the 1997 award for Female Vocalist of the Year Yearwood also won the 1997 ACM Award for Top Female Vocalist. The single was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song, but lost to "My Heart Will Go On". Yearwood performed the song at the ceremony.

The music video, directed by Stuart Orme, was filmed in London, and features Houston singing and recording with her married music producer, and falling in love with him along the way.
"Saving All My Love for You" is the second hit single from Whitney Houston's self-titled debut album. This jazzy ballad (released in August 1985) is about a love affair with a married man, and the singer is "saving all her love for him". She won her first Grammy award for 'Best Pop Vocal Performance, Female' for "Saving All My Love for You".
The song was written by Michael Masser and Gerry Goffin. The song was arranged by Gene Page. It was also a minor hit for Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr. in 1978 on their album Marilyn & Billy (although Davis’ voice was not heard on their version).

"How Will I Know" is the third hit single from Whitney Houston's self-titled first album. The single was released in November 1985 and was written by George Merrill and Shannon Rubicam of Boy Meets Girl fame, who wrote it for Janet Jackson. The song is an electric dance tune about the singer wondering if a guy she likes feels the same way about her. Houston became a staple on MTV with the release of this hit single.
On the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, "How Will I Know" reached the #1 spot on February 15, 1986, becoming Houston's second number-one single and third top five single from the same album. The single displaced "That's What Friends Are For" by Houston's cousin Dionne Warwick, thus becoming just the third time (and first time by female artists) in history for relatives to replace each other at number one on the Hot 100
