Malaysia extended ceiling caps for retail prices of chicken and eggs for four months effective Feb 5. It is believed that they are trying to suppress the food inflation at least till Ramadan is over.

Recent surge in feed costs had affected poultry companies in Malaysia. Even SGX-listed Khong Guan, is subjected to selling-price caps in Malaysia despite higher raw material and freight costs pressures, as well as supply chain challenges due to the tight container freight situation. The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine will further exacerbate the situation as these countries are major exporters of agriculture products such as wheat.

With the relaxed travel restrictions, will Singapore drivers entering Malaysia, be allowed to leave with carloads of groceries?

the only chicken-related cost to decrease is desperate impoverished “chicken.”

Simply put.... creat NSF 18 y.o boys for army and police forces....

Very useful cheap labours to use them to head to farmland to learn farm trade and associated trades....

Within 2 years before they RODs build housings for them next to the farmlands. Get instant home buyers for the construction booms and farm trade workers of young population farmer workers...
From them onwards food supplies chain are secured and a nation securities for the country.

Copy LKY the genius how he Make Singapore Great ....

Whatever big plans that comes from umno gomen, the eventual conclusion is the destruction of businesses snd opportunities.

No permit required to import food into Malaysia

https://www.malaymail.com/news/mala...required-to-import-food-into-malaysia/2059591

PUTRAJAYA, May 18 — The government has agreed not to impose with immediate effect, the approved permit (AP) requirement to import foodstuffs into the country, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

He said this decision was reached at the Cabinet meeting chaired by him today towards ensuring sufficient food supply in the country. “This will enable all parties to import any food items into the country.”

The media had earlier reported that Malaysia would be facing a serious food crisis if various problems such as inflation, oil price increase, extreme weather conditions, the Covid-19 pandemic and conflict between Russia and Ukraine continued.

Malaysia halting chicken exports

https://www.todayonline.com/singapo...y-need-consider-switching-other-meats-1905506

Malaysia's Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaacob said in a Facebook post on Monday evening that the Malaysian government will be halting the export of 3.6 million chickens a month starting June 1, until the price and production of chicken stabilises again. 34 per cent of Singapore's chicken exports in 2021 were from Malaysia, and that almost all are imported as live chickens, which are then slaughtered and chilled in Singapore.

Latest: Malaysians hoarding Singapore Dollars again. Moneychangers in Penang and KL reporting SGD note-shortages.

I may review my original prediction that MY may default and go bankrupt even earlier. Maybe as soon as 2026

Rast time, Chao Turtle reared Cheekon in kampong and they roam freely.
Can bring own eggs to ckt stalls.

Nvr mind lah, tiaggong we are importing from Brazil and usa.

I think many poultry farms may shut. The gomen expect them to subsidise the entire malaysian population by imposing " price control".

Yes, they lost a lot of money due to surging costs of chicken feeds.
