Last week, after exercising along the Green Corridor, popped by Tanglin Halt to check on the stall holders, and bought some breakfast on the way back to my office at MOE.
Business is tough during this period. Do support our hawkers please, if we are doing takeaways. CCS

As we continue with efforts to stem the transmission of #COVID-19 in our community, keeping our students and children safe remains a key priority.
We are embarking on a vaccination programme for our schools and Institutes of Higher Learning, as part of national efforts to strengthen our community’s resilience against COVID-19. Getting vaccinated will protect our students and their families, and give them greater peace of mind.
To guide our students and their parents on the upcoming vaccination programme, here is a summary of the key details:
*When will vaccination start?*
Vaccination bookings for our students will start tomorrow 1 Jun, with slots available from 3 Jun onwards in the community vaccination centres. We have set aside as many slots as possible, to vaccinate as many eligible students as possible, and as soon as possible in the months of June and July.
*Who will get the vaccination first?*
We will start with the graduating cohorts taking N-, O- and A-levels to allow them ample flexibility in scheduling their second vaccination appointment before their exams. Invitations will be progressively sent to all other eligible students in the coming days.

*How will students be notified?*
Students above 18 will receive the SMSes directly and those under 18 will receive this through their parents/guardians. Students above 18 can have their vaccination done at any of the vaccination centres. Students below 18 will be able to book their vaccination slots in the centres offering the Pfizer vaccine. After you receive the SMS invitation, please choose a centre that is convenient for you.

*Where will vaccinations be offered?*
Vaccinations will be made easily accessible for students at community vaccination centres from 3 Jun. There will be 4 dedicated vaccination centres for students from 7 June, of which 3 will be at ITE College campuses and one at Raffles City Convention Centre.

If you are deciding whether to have your child vaccinated, it is important to bear in mind that vaccination can help reduce the severity of the effects of the virus, even if one gets infected.

Let’s all do our part and keep our families and community safe. CCS

Most of us will have one or more inspiring teachers in our lives. Miss Low, my Primary 3 form teacher at MacPherson Primary School, was one. From a boy who only had confidence to read picture books for children, Miss Low encouraged me to read beyond and more, page by page, building my confidence and sense of curiosity.
I shared this story at the virtual Teachers’ Conference and ExCEL Fest today with our teachers. Some actions may appear small, but they can have a great impact on our lives.
For our Little Red Dot to keep shining, we have to enable our people to be competent to earn our keep with the world. By engendering the confidence in our people of our place in the world, we can better chart our own destiny; and distinguish ourselves as a people with our principles and values.
Good to see that our educators are coming together to learn and share best practices at the conference today. The ongoing pandemic has changed the way we teach and learn, and I want to thank all our dedicated educators for their hard work in continuing to inspire our students, and ensuring that they continue to learn and be supported at home, or in school. Our educators are united by the higher purposes in our profession and mission – to develop competent and confident individuals; and to build a confident and distinguished nation of values. CCS

The student looks confused. :confused::biggrin:
Kee Chiu always talk in bombastic language. The student was thinking "Don't know what the fark he's talking,so cheam.KNNCCB".
If Kee Chiu cannot communicate in a way so that the other party (student) understands, then he cannot be a good teacher or education minister.
