Now I am a little worried. It has been half an hour and I still cannot smell or taste. I justate a couple of almonds and I can't taste the honey butter almonds too. I search the net and found this and hopefully, this is true and it isn't covid-19.

Your sense of smell could be affected by too much cleaning.

‘Using strong household cleaners, such as bleach, a few times a week in unventilated areas such as a small bathroom can cause the toxic smell to affect the delicate lining and sensory cells in the nose,’ says Mr Murty.

‘This applies to the serial cleaners among us at home, but is also particularly relevant to those who work in industries that use chemicals such as chlorine, acids or solvents — or are even surrounded by metal dusts — on a day-to-day basis.’

Whether the sense of smell returns depends on how long there’s been a problem and how badly the cells have been affected: it can be permanent.

I was using this strong Cif spray when cleaning the bathroom. It's a brand new bottle and I used up half a bottle, spraying all over the walls, glass and bathroom floor. Then I scrubbed all over. It took me half an hour and I could smell the Cif.

But after I cleaned up and showered, dried myself, I suddenly realized that I couldn't smell any more. So I took some almonds. I couldn't taste the almonds as well.

Strange. I hope it isn't covid-19. I do not even feel the slightest unwell in me. Just took my temperature, it's 36.4.

stir fry belachan with gutter oil and check if smell is ok.
I don't have that at home. Just took some calbee prawn sticks, still no taste or smell. It's my first time using this Cif cleaner. I bought it wanting to get rid of the limescale on my shower partition glass. Sprayed and scrub for almost half an hour. Is it that "toxic"???

die. you just vapourized your mucosa. that's why cannot smell. The oxidative action does that. always make sure these strong smelling cleaners used in good ventilation. You probably sealed up the bathroom?

can ask doctor what recovery is like. One time usually ok. Keep it up though....

It's a hdb bathroom. I took longer than my usual cleaning because I need to spray and scrub off the limescale and scum from the glass partition.

next time keep door and windows open and point a fan to exhaust the cleaning fumes outside your house. or use less product.

Deary, were you trying to clean up a crime scene?
Nope I wasn't. Don't be an idiot. The glass partition was getting very "non transparent" because of all the line scale and soap scum buildup over the months, so I went to ntuc and buy a strong cif cleaner to scrub them off.

That's rude! :FU: they had a chance to build up because you neglected your chores for months.

I just hope it isn't covid-19. I am a little worried that I may have caught it in the train or at ntuc today. :frown:
not likely. if immediately after bathroom cleaning you have your triggering event. If you started feeling off earlier maybe...

No thanks. I am going to make myself some instant noodles to see if I could taste. It's instant noodles night as my daughter is having her "dayout" with her daddy...

All is not lost if you still can smell your own poop.
