Agreed that the problem in China is the way it is governed. Another problem is the mindset.

During the initial chaotic state, a capable strong hand is needed to get it out of poverty. It takes time for china to evolve, to be able to run by the pte sector with minimum central control. During this transition, all it takes is a corrupt leader or a CAQ to take charge and the past glory will be gone in no time.

the current leader will turn corrupt and after him a corrupt leader is waiting in the pipeline. it's impossible to have an unbroken string of so called enlightened and honest leaders. all it takes is one to bring the house of cards down. too much power in one joker. no checks and balance.
