No lah!...the old fox is craftier than turning the tap off. Normally you owe PUB ( now StinkPOWER) water bill money & can't settle it, they come to your place, add a thimble to the output pipe, you get slow flowing water till you settle all the amount you owe, then charge you money to remove the thimble & restore water flow.

In old fox scenario, he would add thimbles to the water pipes flowing to Singapore, until the re-negotiate the clause in the contract for default, the amount payable to his satisfaction...while he sing, " I can get no satisfaction!" with the rolling stones. After which he will remove the thimbles & pay..as when he can....and then get Obama to recite " YES, I CAN!"... ha ha ha ha ha

I've already bought a condo unit in Jurong East, hoping to cash in when the HSR terminal is completed. Now that project has been cancelled, property prices in Jurong East have been destabilized. I would be seeking legal advice on whether I can sue jiuhu or the property company that promised me that I would make a windfall because of the HSR terminal.

I would be seeking legal advice on whether I can sue jiuhu or the property company that promised me that I would make a windfall because of the HSR terminal.

Need to hold your horses first. Mad Hatter has not officially cancelled the project. There's still a chance that it's still on, just like the June 12 Dotard-Fatty summit.

SINGAPORE - Singapore's Ministry of Transport (MOT) said on Monday (May 28) that it has not received any official notification from Malaysia regarding the dropping of the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High-Speed Rail (HSR) project.

This comes in response to Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad announcing in a press conference on Monday that Malaysia would pull out of the deal with Singapore. He had, in an earlier interview, cited the need to do away with unnecessary projects, one of them being the cross-border HSR, which will cost Malaysia RM110 billion (S$37 billion) and not earn them "a single cent".

You are still okay. URA can easily come up with alternatives for the JLD. MOT has launched the JRL which will give a boost to the Jurong East CDB due to connectivity. The worst is for those who invested in the HSR hype in Melaka, KL ,etc. They have to suck thumb now.
