My friends in banks always tell me how their colleagues get diagnosed with cancer around 40.

He will get well, no doubt..having a stroke....something's will never be the same again...it is not like breaking an arm or....... I have a colleague while preparing for work had a heart attack at 5am....after that, it was not the same, was down graded at work & was a 'rising star' to take over the boss of the division...& that is one of the many fallen to high pressure work...another working in a financial institution had a stroke at 29...down graded too....

It is the food we eat, the life style we lead & the extremely stressful work life.....if one is paid millions, what do you expect...divine providence is warning the MIW....today it is HSK...tomorrow, it might be, YOU....so easy to earn, people'e money?..

I want to tell you guys something. I am a Tampines GRC constituent. I had shared my encounter with Masagos which was a positive one. During polling day of the 2011 GE, I was at a cooffeshop reading the papers on the GE when I found myself surrounded by a sea of white. It was the PAP army on their way to the polling stations. A short man stopped and stood a few feet away from me and when our eyes met he nodded a hello which was returned without emotion. I am imbued with a good sense of character judgment. Mr Heng to me truly is a man of humility as have been shown since his elevation to Mt Olympus Singapore. My emotional reaction to this episode of our country's history is why must it be him? Why not the useless jiatliaobees in the Cabinet? We have lost a good man. Much as I hope it to be, we will not see him back. I don't believe in God but I find myself praying that he won't need to suffer for the rest of his life.

He's on medical leave which is an entitlement.

When he runs of out of medical leave a decision will have to be made what to do with him. He's a Heng so draw your own conclusions.

Lymphoma is one tricky type of cancer. For those who made it through the first round and think that by taking it easy and having more obscenely paid subordinates to run the show for him, he can ward off its return. But cancer will always come back with a vengeance.

In normal, Employment act...sheesh! I have forgotten the law already & too lazy to dig up the manual or google....I think it is 60 days hospitalisation leave with full salary, then it is full salary for 6 moths ( full pay) & then 6 months ( 1/2 month pay) & anything beyond that, depends on Medical Board....we don't have these people employment contracts...it must be perpetual....

But I bet HSK...the people will gladly pay till he dies....when!..depends on who first...!!

Yes. Traditional local Singapore companies such as banks, trading houses would "close an eye" and let it run past a year which I thought was noble of them. For person of his grade, I am sure money is not the issue. Wife is also super scale. There will also be the insurance cover.

Just out of curiosity, what is your normal blood pressure readings ?

During my stay in the hospital I was hooked on to a machine that monitor the blood pressure and pulse rate 24/7. I was surprised to find my pressure to be normal around 80 / 120 plus minus.

It was a lesson that I wish to share that such thing just struck without any sign or symptom.
