A former Mediacorp producer was jailed two weeks on Wednesday (April 20) for slapping a police officer, then spitting at him and his female colleague at Sentosa's Tanjong Beach Club on April 26, 2015.
They were called in after she was found swimming topless there.
Zhao Xiaotian, 26, a Singaporean, had pleaded guilty to two counts of using criminal force on a public servant in the execution of duty, with six other charges taken into consideration.
Zhao, who was then doing script writing and work required for producing news bulletins, went to the club where she met friends and drank alcohol.
At about 8.30pm, she took off her bikini top and swam in the club pool, only to be warned by a security guard to put her top back on.
She did so but removed it again.
The police were called in.
Zhao was again uncooperative and verbally abused the police officers.
The New Paper understands she had put on a top, then placed her black bikini top she was holding in her hand on a male officer's shoulder.
When he warned her of her conduct, she slapped him.
She also spat at him and his female colleague outside the club after she was arrested.
Zhao's lawyer, Mr A. K. Nakoorsha, who had asked for probation in his mitigation plea, said Zhao will be appealing against the sentence.
