They need one another. MIW needs Kuek more than he needs them. The 200k/mth pay packet is sufficient for Kuek to grow his skin thick enough to ward off insults and criticisms as long as he keeps the root of the problems secret.

Watching some of SMRT officers explain their root cause findings of the train service disruption and the rectification to the problem, they seemed very happy and animated in explaining their knowledge of the problem and how to get the problem fixed.
Here is precisely the problem. Here we have this bunch of SMRT officer/s with a peculiar mentality that finding the cause/s to the train disruption is like given a rare chance to impress the public and management that they are the ones who could find the causes and managed to fix them, hence they showed " impressive value ".
Friend, finding the causes and fixing the problem one at a time impresses no one.
Don't wait for problem to happen and then go find the causes. This is not a treasure hunt game. You are not paid to be a QC inspector who relishes at finding the causes of a quality defect. You are paid to ensure that there is ZERO DEFECT. Go do your FMEA. You only impresses people when there is zero train service disruption.

In my opinion the root cause of the problem is the way that sinkies use the MRT. The uncouth and unruly behavior is obviously causing far more wear and tear than is usually the case.
It's a sad state of affairs that the SMRT now has to factor in the behavior of the general populace into its planned maintenance schedules.

Why not go deeper into the issue? Such unruly and uncouth behavior is the manifestation of stress, usually as a result of overcrowding and insufficient rest? Shall we blame it on high costs of living coupled with low wages?

No the cause of the fights is that sinkies originate from an uncultured gene pool and civilised behavior does not come naturally to most sinkies.

Up till now no minister or mp dare to chide or criticize Kuek's performance.
On top of that Lui and CEO of LTA have to sit together with him to apologize.
