The incident was reported to the police and the LTA said it takes a serious view of the incident.

This is believed to the fourth instance of vandalism which SMRT has encountered in four years. The first case was in May 2010, when two vandals cut through the fence of SMRT's Changi depot and spray-painted graffiti on one side of a train. One of them, Swiss national Oliver Fricker, was given seven months' jail and three strokes of the cane, while his accomplice, Briton Lloyd Dane Alexander, remains at large.

In August 2011, a hole was cut in the fence at the Bishan depot, and the words "Jet Setter's" were spray-painted on one of the trains.

SINGAPORE: Graffiti was discovered on the exterior of an SMRT train at Bishan depot early Saturday (Nov 8) morning, before the train was put into service.

In a statement on Saturday, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said the incident has been reported to the Police. LTA added that it takes a serious view of the incident and is working with the Police and SMRT on the investigations. This is believed to be the fourth vandalism incident involving the SMRT in four years.

Police said they were alerted to the incident at 6.41am. A case of vandalism had been reported at the premise along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1. They added that investigations are ongoing.

The first incident happened in May 2010 when two vandals cut through the fence of SMRT's Changi depot and spray-painted graffiti on a train. In this case graffiti was apparently spray-painted on a train's middle carriage. SMRT has previously been fined S$200,000 and S$50,000 for the first two separate security breaches at its depots.

After numerous checkpoint lapse, repeated mrt depot breach, ISIS will strike successfully eventually...

Right now, all resources poured into Roy & HHH and Aljunied TC Kovan CNY market permit.

Even if they catch the culprits there are doubts if it will ever become a court case. Just look at the Toa Payoh incident. The authorities claim to have caught the vandals but there hasn't been a court case. It is a big mystery of why

Good. I do hope ISIS strikes and blows up the MRT depot. Maybe that'll finally wake them up enough to actually do something about the lax security.

SMRT should get use to such 'artwork' on their trains. Millions spent on enhanced security and still this can happen. Where were the security cameras?
If they can't protect their own trains from spray cans, how can we expect them to protect us from explosives or a terrorist attack?
