I agree with your statement that the rich will get richer, things are to their advantage, and once on the roll, they will accumulate more wealth. But if in general a reasonable amount of law and order takes effect, things will improve, if not for everybody, at least for the majority. In the case of Indonesia, they have improved much over the last few decades. They are no longer starving. There is a growing middle-class, most children have a chance at education, and in the big cities at least (don't know about the rural zones), people's lives are progressing to the extent that real estate prices are skyrocketing (in Jakarta, I know this is happening). The future looks bright for them, much of the population are young, not extremely religious, and well-educated. If Joko is not politically destabilized by opponents, Indonesia is due for a golden age.
