What Would LKY and GKS Do?

A story was told that in the late 1960s, the "Keep Singapore Clean and Green" Campaign was not going well. LKY demanded to chair a meeting to resolve the problem. The Permanent Secretary of Environment explained that he didn't have enough resources to make the campaign a success. LKY asked what resources he needed and the PS gave a list. LKY turned to the Minister and remarked, "give him what he needs and if he doesn't get the results, remove him". Due to their excellence and leadership, LKY and GKS achieved great success in keeping Singapore clean and green.

That's the standard of excellence LKY and GKY demanded and instilled in the SG Civil Service.....

To be fair, not everyone can apply such leadership style. I remembered MBT said something like "some heads must roll" when there was some problem with the erp and got lambasted. One needs to have the credential to say such thing. However, I agree that the lack of accountability on the many serious shortcomings like yog, mas ... is a sign of weak leadership.

I am glad see LHL's leadership as a weak leadership. We must not be afraid to expose a weak leader and call him so.

LHL has surrounded himself with weak members who are weaker than him. Look at LSS, VB, LHK, LTY, TCH, Shanmugum, GKY, HSK, LW, TCJ, CCS. Arent they weak? Is any PM material?

It is up to singaporeans to repalce them

LHL himself has shown to be drastically lacking in leadership. All he has is academic and bookworm type of intelligence.

The quality of his team is also deteriorating over time. They are paid sky high salaries even after the ministerial pay revision. And yet, no one good out there wants to join them? That surely tells us something about the PAP. The quality ministerial caliber people are keeping away from PAP.

It's time to kick out some of the jiak liao bee ministers and hopefully with more oppo members in parliament we can have more robust debate on national issues.

Time to give PAP a good kick in the butt. Altogether now ... HUAT AH!
