SCHINDELHAUER bicycle - Made in germany

what ugly joint, lugged joints? are you mad.

You can MIG/TIG weld all day, but there is nothing like the beauty of nicely finished lugs. What can I say? I'm a purist. To those who are new to frame assembly methods, I urge you to look at lugged frames. Not just lugged steel frames, but also lugged carbon and titanium frames. A lugged frame is craftsmanship at its best! :)

show me a bike you can buy in the shop today with lugged joints?

Manufacturers are still making them. Some big, some smaller. All can bought brand new today (either from shops or online).

I have a lugged Cinelli with Columbus tubing which I use for the easy days. It's heavy, (9.7kg for the complete bike) but very comfortable.

This is the one :

My full carbon bike is 6.5kg with the lightest wheels I have. It is usually ridden with Mavic alloy wheels which brings the weight up to 7.1Kg

6.5kg? now that is very light. I hardly see such weight in most bicycle website.

Do you pass on your carbon after 3 years or still ride it?

There's no self imposed expiry date. The carbon bike is bought back in 2004 is still in use and still in excellent condition. It's been through the French Alps.

It's the wheels that make the difference. The Mavic Carbone Ultimates weigh just below 1100gms. Alloy wheel sets weigh around 1600gms. That a 0.5kg difference. The whole wheel is carbon including the hubs and the spokes except for the drive side of the rear wheel.

what ? that is too extreme. i rather keep putting money in my car, so it can continue to poison the earth with carbon dioxide. I dun have much years to live anyway, the young one can fix the atmosphere themselves.

Thats a sweet looking pair of shoes. I like the rustic vintage Italian leather look.

The Supercorsa Pista is a beauty. Fixed or Single-speed?

I have a vintage Legnano Pista. 8.9 kg for the whole setup. Campagnolo equipped, with Fiamme rims. Conti tubulars. And yes, steel is real, I love the ride.
