Italians are affected by their bad economy. They had their lunch too long?

I need to stop walking and start running.

SINGAPORE: A group of 26 Singaporean tourists lost some $50,000 in Italy when their belongings were stolen from their tour bus in Rome.

The theft took place on the second last day of their 10-day holiday.

The group touched down in Singapore just before 7.20pm on Tuesday evening.

Channel NewsAsia understands that the group had left their belongings on the tour bus when they went for dinner.

When they returned, the bus was missing.

Unfortunately, one tourist had left his passport on the bus.

Channel NewsAsia understands that he has flown to the nearest Singapore Embassy, in Switzerland, for assistance.

I've always travelled solo. Never joined a Spore organised tour group because I've heard about the "problems" traveling with a bunch of Sporeans. :D

money only lucky they italian mafia didn't take their lives.

prc couples carrying a baby go rome kena blown away by italian gangsters because they refused to give money to them.

Must be the Romani gypsies. It's a pity the Nazis didn't finish them off.

why did the sinkies leave their belongings on the bus? I mean were they carrying their luggage? Isn't it common sense to carry your wallets with you at all times?

OK took place on 2nd day of their tour. So obviously they had already settled into their hotels so the stuff they were bringing would be small items like wallets, phones etc and you usually carry these items with you at all times. Stupidity of the sinkies to leave their items on the bus. When i went on tour i always carried my wallet and 2 phones on me whereever i went.

They were probably on route to another hotel and stopped for dinner before checking in. Post #5 provides more details.

ok the news reports that they lost 50k. Was that the value of their luggage or 50k in cash? I mean it's just fucking common sense to carry cash and your phone and of course your id, passport with you at all times. That is all.

Maybe it was from the items they picked up along the way?
Someone wrote a book about about the ugly side of Spore travelers. In one incident a tour from Spore had their luggage searched & many missing phones that people had liberated from the rooms were found:D

about $2000 in estimated value of purchased goods, clothes, personal belongings and luggage per tourist. typically, it's over bloated as everyone tend to exaggerate the value of belongings in a theft, fire or loss. from all the fake goods made in china that they bought in italy, the value per person should be about $699 including unwashed clothes, dirty underwear, soiled toothbrush and luggage. :D
