Sad how someone found not guilty had his life destroyed by this episode. I guess justice and reality dont match.

Or for reasons of revenge...

If so, that chap achieved his objective. Whether NBG goes to jail or not, he emerged the biggest loser in this episode. The whole world knows about him now. Cannot recall a civil servant who suffered more humiliation in public and yet got acquitted. 400-500k also down longkang to his SC who must be the happiest chap in Sub Court yesterday - reputation enhanced, bank account pa pa.

Not going to happen. GD is right. Probably retired in public interest.

Even if NBG returns to police force with rank intact or one pip less, he will get some title like Chairman (Special Projects) and retired at the age of 50.

hard to imagine when NBG restore his rank..and charged teng for drug offence.
when ng meet teng in the interview room is like angry cock meet hungry pussy

Good for NBG,
if that is the final outcome,
so that NBG will be able to receive his pension benefits at age 55

He can receive his benefits almost immediately as long as PSC doesn't dismiss him. My bet is, retirement in public interest. A dismissal is too draconian, imo.

I hope the DJ will not be sidelined.

He can always leave the legal service. I am sure he can step out on his own. Sure to have lots of clients. Brave man. Objectively speaking, he disagreed with CJ Sundaresh Menon's decision to prosecute NBG when the latter was AG.

Just curious if CS will face charges. I suspect she won't be history. CPIB will likely seek AGC's blessings to prosecute CS.

Brother GD, any juicy story to tell about what's going to happen to NBG after his acquittal?

Nothing juicy bro. I am quite certain NBG will pack his bags and leave S'pore together with Yen Yen. He should have secured a job by now. Likely to be based in China, Vietnam or Cambodia. Hard to chari makan in S'pore after his case.

Yes. If CPIB was that efficient, Lionel would have faced at least 30 charges.

Those cheebye kiahs in the CPIB obviously only going for their big fish targets and not very interested in the convictions as they are in the public shaming....

Tuayap[eh wonders why they even bother when it just exposes all their crude and almost inhumane treatement of suspects under their custody,....fucking bunch of secret police bastards pursuing their own fucked up agendas.....

Honestly, AGC should take the rap for this. CPIB investigates, makes recommendation etc. But AGC is THE final authority to decide if case goes to court. Quite obviously, both parties weren't meticulous enough. How else to explain the embarrassment in court? They were also too complacent, believing they could tame CS. End of the day, CS spitted on their faces! Her mouth not only do BJ. Can spit saliva too.

All he did was screw his mistress... he probably didnt do it wearing his uniform or abusing the govt's resources like taking out his QX car rigfht? So wdf does the DC have on him which shows a dereliction of his duty as a police officer anyways?

Just retire him and let him enjoy the rest of his life in peace la....

Wayang lah. There will be appeal and the CJ will be one of the presiding judge and the rest is history.

Going by the records, it is very likely there will be an appeal. However, it is quite unlikely that the CJ will be the presiding judge. The reason is simple. There is a conflict of interest. When the case was first brought up, the CJ was the AG and AG office must (I assume) permit the case to go ahead. So, how could the CJ be presiding the case now? The logical assumption is that giving all the CPIB evidences presented to him to get his go ahead to charge NBG, he must have been convinced that NBG was corrupt and should be charged. So, how could he be the presiding judge now because by presiding the case, he will be ruling his own evidences that he had even before the case went to the district court. And it would be more radiculous if he acquitted NGB after all he (presumably) was the one permitted the case to go ahead. If he acquitted NBG than the case should not have gone to the court in the first place. Thus, in my non-expert legal opinion, the CJ cannot preside the case. My non-legal expert opinion is that this is going to be 100% conflict of interest if the CJ is the presiding judge.

Misconduct covers almost everything under the sun, moon and sea. If they wanna get you, they will. Bet on this. Being a Dir Manpower previously, NBG knows he won't escape this time.

No worries. There is no law in Singapore. Your logic prevails. QC from UK and others have evaluated cases in Singapore and found that our people carry law paper and trying to do moot court actually need to redo 101 in law or not do law at all.
