Anyone notice almost 10 % increase of electors in Punggol East?

It was 31k in 2011 and in less than 2 years it became 33k

With the White Paper out I think there will be acceleration of influx to make up for 2016 election

SMC Name No. of Electors (2011)
Bukit Panjang 31,768
Hong Kah North 26,364
Hougang 22,962
Joo Chiat 20,861
Mountbatten 22,191
Pioneer 24,659
Potong Pasir 16,665
Punggol East 31,649
Radin Mas 28,837
Sengkang West 28,595
Whampoa 20,478
Yuhua 21,913
Total 296,942

GRC Name No. of Electors (2011)
Aljunied 136,527
Bishan-Toa Payoh 116,068
Chua Chu Kang 151,956
East Coast 114,851
Marine Parade 145,000
Moulmein-Kallang 84,019
Pasir Ris-Punggol 170,749
Sembawang 136,255
Tampines 131,978
Ang Mo Kio 172,343
Holland-Bukit Timah 85,285
Jurong 119,957
Nee Soon 143,070
Tanjong Pagar 132,330
West Coast 118,128
Total 1,958,516

Total voters 2.2 mil if they bring in 1.2 mil we are finished!
Go figure out yourself

There will be no answer to such dirty tactics by PAP except protest at Hong Lim.

Mind you, the impact of new citizens on the rolls is very substantial because Elections Department expunged from the previous electoral rolls those that failed to vote at the last GE. So, in this BE, 94% turnout means that 6% will be expunged from the rolls at the next GE. Those expunged would overwhelmingly be born and bred sinkies.

Some sinkies did not vote for various reasons - out of country, warded in hospitals, very sick at home or simply forgot etc.

It is important to get it re-instate so that next election, they can vote.

Nothing happen. Their names will be striked out and they cannot vote in the next election. They will be replaced by the newly minted shitizen.

You think they will just keep quiet? That's not going to happen. The govt's FT program will come back to haunt them.

They have to take the initiative to go to the ELD to get their names reinstated. If they were out of the country then they need to show their passport with the relevant stamps. For other things like hospitalisation, that too they need to show proof of why they were a no-show at the polling station. Frankly, most of these people are so indifferent that only a small number would bother to reinstate.

For being so daft to be expunged for failing to vote.

And for voting the PAP consistently,

Sinkie deserved to be made EXTINCTED!LOL

Aljunied 2011 election result.

WP - 72,289 (54.72%)
PAP - 59,829 (45.28%)

Diff - 12,460

Total votes 132,118 votes

If PAP install new citizens 66,059 (50% of total votes)

What's the chances of WP winning back Aljunied?

Maybe that's why vote swing to WP because new citizens like blue more?

In a previous thread I did in fact say that many new citizens from the PRC, who reside in PE, would find WP attractive. As such I am not surprised. So, this is the fascinating aspect: WP can actually attract large numbers of that group even if pinoy & Indian new citizens vote in large numbers for PAP.

What if new citizens are being reminded during commissioning that their voting ticket has a serial number traceable to their names? Most Singaporeans are already immune and it would take a very long time for NC to get use to it.

PRC new citizens should like LTK, the face of WP. LTK is so Chinese, unlike the banana PAP leaders.

The govt is not very subtle, but it is not crude either. What you are suggesting is crude. hahaha
