In the past, great TV series and great songs go together. Sadly, not anymore.

So let me start the ball rolling with this nostalgic thread.

One of the earliest TV serial I've ever seen.

Another classic this one

保镖 is one of the worst TV series I remembered.

Always want to fight but never fight. 口水多过茶.

See how 司马不平 has aged. He can been seen as the old rich man in 夜市人生.

No shit! It's him? knn he look like a typical taiwanese politician. Yes 保镖 serial is like damn 长气, worst is they promise to come back after 3 years to fight again.

Yes it's him. Name is 石英.

Still remember watching this on a small 14" black and white TV with two super-long antennae.

There's another swordsman called 欧阳无敌. Forgot who's the actor though.

Yes I remember this character. I was watching with our black & white National TV, neighbours came join us too.

The Greatest American Hero, Perfect Strangers, The Love Boat, The Brady Bunch, Moonlighting, etc..

At that time, Taiwan was still until Martial Law (I think) cos of tension with Mainland China and under heavy censorship controlled by the KMT gov. They were not allowed violence and sword fighting scenes limited to a few mins allocation for certain hours show or something like that. That is why they always talk and pull sword halfway then put back when someone comes along to stop them. Limited sword fighting scene allowed by the KMT at that time. That's why gov control censorship fucked up creativity.

Too bad that lead actor disappeared halfway in the show and replaced by another new actor. I like the original lead actor better. Heard he got some problem and went missing halfway in production at that time.

Yes, 徐少强 was coerced into making movies while filming this TV series. So he went into hiding and his contract was terminated by the TV station. It's quite a waste because he really has a swordsman seh. His other TV series 沈胜衣 was pretty good too.

His replacement 顾冠忠 was B-rated supporting actor in many movies and don't have that seh as 徐少强.

Another great song from this great series from the 80s:

Yup, Norman Tsui has the seh of a swordman. Too bad he was later blacklisted as I didn't see him in any more TV series or movies after that. Only saw him later in the 90s.

Very nice song, still remember this. This theme song should be used for corporate training in some companies as the lyrics are so apt and true.

Before SBC8 rolled out the local dramas, i pretty much grew up on these
