Problem is they don't want to come to SG. They are good enough for 1st world countries.

The same thing is happening in the night scene. The top notch PRC gals needn't come to S'pore to make a living. They have enough super rich PRC men in China. The stocks that arrived here are usually those who CMI big-time in China - performing artistes and KTV gals.

PRCs who come to Singapore are generally 3rd rate. they are from the peasant class and have village mentality. They have seen severe poverty and are hungry. Have to be careful when dealing with such hungry and 3rd rate people. Thya can be unscrupulous and can do anything just to achieve their goals.

Problem is we are not attracting the best and brightest. Talk to anyone in academic circles. They will tell you we are attracting mainly rejects -- those who couldn't make it to the US or UK.

The varsities actually have to organize YEARLY recruitment drives in China just to reach out to the better students. They actually have to go down physically to China and beg.

SG can obly attract 3rd rate PRCs..Singaporeans are in fact much better. But because the pap is bending over backwards for the prcs..many of of own sons and daughters are migrating because they do not agree with this bad policy.

I think the Govt should be more discriminating. There are many like those working in the hawker centres and other blue collar jobs who are brought more for their cost by employers because of govt policies that allow such cheaper labour to be brought in. Problems such as uncouth behaviour often come from this group. The creme de la creme, I must admit are probably reacting to the environment they are in. But for this group, do we need to give that much and ask for so little in return, as many leave after reaping the reward?

The Govt should be more discerning, more smart and more prudent in their handling of this.
