The officers don't want to lose their rank and the warrant officers are aghast their former men from ME1/ME2 (3SG to MSG) can jump to ME4 (LT/CPT) because they have the relevant degrees.

There are only five NCOs who have the status of 3-star general - the Army SMA, the Air Force CSMAF, the Navy CPON and the Marine SMMC and the SEA to the CJCOS.

However, your statement was that those called "Chiefs" have general's status. That is wrong. There are a lot of Air Force Chief Sergeant Majors and Navy CPOs who rank where they should in their station in life - below Warrant Officer 1. Definitely smaller than a fresh grad 2nd Lt.

ME was introduced to improve morale and allow for civilian rank to be identified clearly in the picking order. With ME its is clear where a Senior Enginneer or Intelligence chap stands with a uniformed Colonel. There was a lot of difficulty on to address one another or determine seniority.

All reasons given are weak excuses. Implementing such policies just builds in more inefficiencies into the force. Really, its so difficult to tell whether a civvy is ranked higher or lower? Need to give good titles and more money to make it clearer?

Our productivity surely is going down the dumps. And it started with LKY and his shameless MM title.

Of course the Singaporean sheep will follow with fantastic titles and positions that hold basically no responsibility. And Lim Shit Say got the cheek to blame it on the people when its the white ghosts that started it all.

During my NS days' , many Enchiks' were aLways found drinking in the NCO bars, pLaying snookers and aLL; my

Basically, the ME system is to pacify the non-SAFOS people who would never rise to BG rank. So far, only one ME8 (or BG equivalent). Bet you he converted to ME in order to get that.

The don't officially outrank normal SWOs but they can informally order SWOs around.

Promotions are nothing. Send them to Afghanistan to see if they are evne of private material.

Only if they have the 'relevant' degree. There are still no hard and fast rules on what is 'relevant' as this is still experimental. I imagine the formation and central personnel branch will have to come to a consensus on what is 'relevant' and the serviceman's Career Ending Point. Likely to be ME5-1 or major and if the sericeman is likely enough maybe ME6 or LTC equivalent

Believe me its just another manpower experiment, those who left or wanting to leave is not doing so because of an unrewarding career but for many reasons. We had CS, PP and now ME. The clowns will keep us suprised in 2020. Every 10 years got something new

Call a military and military. Which country calls their soldiers ME when all are suppose to be experts in something? Basically, this ME nonsense gives NCOs (I hat the term Specialists) some sort of commission but a stupid name and a redundant task--they have to work on the same area for the rest of their life till past 60.
