Former Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) chief Ng Boon Gay was charged in court on Tuesday, with four counts of corruption involving sex with a woman seeking government contracts.
The 44-year-old is accused of obtaining sexual gratification from Cecilia Sue Siew Nang, who was an employee of two IT vendors between June and December last year. The IT vendors are Oracle and Hitachi Data Systems.
The Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) said in a statement that the trysts were apparently in exchange for helping to 'further the business interests of the relevant IT vendor, in respect of that vendor's dealings with CNB'.
Ng arrived in a taxi at the Subordinate Courts at 8.50am with his wife and lawyers.
