<!-- story content : start --> A 36-YEAR-OLD senior database administrator who fell to his death with his seven-year-old son left various suicide notes to family members and close friends. A coroner's court heard that Mohamed Farook Ali Akbar, an Indian national and permanent resident here, had told his sister in a letter that he did it because of his health problem. His body and that of his son, Faheem Mohamed Farook, were found at the foot of Block 287 Bukit Batok East Avenue 3 on April 24. Among the nine pieces of papers found in Farook's master bedroom in Bukit Batok was a letter to to his wife, Madam Aneez Fathima Mohamed Farook, 32, stating that he experienced chest pain and his concern about his health problem. He told her to be brave and encouraged her to remarry, Farook, whose last drawn salary was $7,300 a month, came to Singapore to seek employment shortly after his marriage in India in February 2001. His wife joined him a month later. After she had given birth in India in 2002, both mother and child came here in late 2002. They became permanent residents in 2003. Faheem, who had a problem of delay development, underwent therapies from the age of five, the court heard. Both Farook and his wife were troubled by Faheem's condition. Teachers found him inattentive during lessons and an attention-seeker. He also disturbed some of his classmates. Two days before the incident, the Primary 1 student of Bukit View Primary School had used a pair of scissors to snip his classmate's uniform while attending a Tamil language lesson. On Wednesday, State Coroner Eddy Tham recorded a verdict of murder on Faheem's death, and suicide in the case of Farook's demise.
