HK Celeb Couple Roger Kwok & Cindy Au Announce Divorce After 18 Years Of Marriage

Separation is never easy but for some couples, it is the right decision. After 18 years of marriage and almost three decades of being together, Hong Kong celebrity couple Roger Kwok (郭晉安) and Cindy Au (歐倩怡) announce their divorce.
The pair shared the news yesterday (2nd May 2024, Thursday) through their Instagram accounts. In the post, both stars wrote a joint message, thanking each other for their time together. Roger and Cindy also revealed that they’ve separated for the past two years, adding that the decision to divorce was made after careful consideration and communication.

As with most separations, the two admitted that divorcing was a difficult decision to make but believed it was the right choice for their relationship. They acknowledged the sacrifice they’ve made and the hard work they’ve put into raising a family. Lastly, Roger and Cindy gave their blessings to each other, wishing the other party happiness for the future.
60-year-old Roger and 45-year-old Cindy married in 2006 after seven years of dating. The pair have two children together, Brad, born in 2008, and Blaire, born in 2011. The two maintained a good relationship throughout the years but there were previously reports of a turbulent marriage. A few years ago, Roger even admitted to the press that he thought of divorce due to frequent fights with his wife. However, they reconciled by spending more time with each other and communicating better.

Unfortunately, it seems that this time, the divorce is final. However, we believe the pair are content with the decision. Nevertheless, we wish the two happiness in their future lives.

Citing HK01, news outlet Znews reported that during their marriage, Kwok and Au had a high level of trust in each other. Consequently, Kwok alone holds ownership of their marital assets, with Au opting not to co-own them to sidestep complications.
This made the division of the couple’s assets a hot topic of discussion after Kwok and Au declared their divorce on Thursday.
Among the assets registered under Kwok’s name are several valuable real estate properties such as those in Hong Kong’s Sai Kung neighborhood, the Chung Kiu commercial building in Mong Kok, and the Taikoo Shing residential complex. Notably, even their two children are not listed as owners of these properties.
Kwok is a renowned actor with TVB, famous for his performances in "Lin Shing Kuet" and "Black Heart White Soul." He stands out as one of the few actors to have won the Best Actor award at the TVB Anniversary Awards three times.
Au initially launched her career as a singer before transitioning to acting. She gained fame for her performance in "Journey to the West II."
The pair was in a relationship for seven years prior to their marriage in 2006.
