To allay unnecessary anxiety caused to hawkers and the public due to the media reports, we enclose as Annex A, the tentative schedules for annual cleaning of the five hawker centres within our jurisdiction. At these annual cleanings, the Town Council will bear all cost related to cleaning the high areas, including all necessary scaffolding and canvas costs. This is in keeping with our obligation to clean the high areas annually, as confirmed by NEA’s Advisory of 31 May 2013.

Is this a JOKE???!!!

Indeed, it is a very cruel and a very disgusting joke played on the hawkers so mischievously and so maliciously by the Hammerrhoids.

If ‘the Town CounciI will bear all cost related to cleaning the high areas, including all necessary scaffolding and canvas costs’, then why the hell hawkers are being made to pay and arrange the scaffolding themselves in the first place? Why didn’t the Hammerrhoids bother to inform the hawkers from the beginning that they are performing this kind of ‘Special Service’ to them for free?

When the Hammerrhoids were informed that the hawkers will be paying for arranging/dismantling the scaffolding themselves via one single email of an unknown PAP mini-puppy, why didn’t they stop the hawkers from wasting their money and time?

Why didn’t the Hammerroids tell the hawkers that this ‘Special Service’ will be performed for free? For the past 2 years, why didn’t the Hammerrhoids advertise and promote their free ‘Special Service’ to the hawkers? Surely, this kind of ‘Special Service’ performed by the Hammerrhoids is not as illegal or exotic or erotic as that kind of ‘Special Service’ performed by the Health Centres. Then why are the Hammerrhoids so secretive and discreet about their free ‘Special Service’, only dare to make known to the hawkers until now?

Perhaps, the Hammerrhoids should learn from the HC, go down to the ground and ask every single hawker before beginning their SOP cleaning and washing:

“Do you want our Special Service to be performed for free?”

And if the Hammerrhoid Tua Ki have not always been so unapproachable and so inaccessible to the hawkers, the latter would then be spared of this ‘unnecessary anxiety’ of DIY for arranging and paying for this kind of ‘Special Service’, which is only till now allegedly performed for free by the Hammerrhoid Tua Pai.

Indeed, if the Hammerrhoids Ang Pai are as hardworking, motivated and hungry as the HC workers’ party, this calamity could have been easily avoided. Simply put, Hammerrhoids are worse than hookers!

To add insult to the injury, by sending out the above public statement, the Hammerroids are mocking and insulting the intelligence and integrity of the hawkers to the entire world:

“We have been performing this Special Service to you for free! Yet you still pay for it and DIY yourself! Why so stupid! Why no brain!”

The Hammerrhoids have taken the big trouble to pi$$ at the hawkers to make them look very stupid. Worse, the hawkers have also been smeared as PAP dogs for daring to speak up for their right. Why must the Hammerrhoids compound this ‘unneccessary anxiety caused to the hawkers’?

No wonder the humiliated hawkers are now so fed up and demanding to be compensated.

If the Hammerrhoids are so ‘kind’ and ‘gracious’ to be performing their ‘Special Service’ for free to the hawkers, then why this:

Our contractor informed us that the hawkers’ association had approached them for a quotation for the scaffolding, which they had provided, but nothing further was heard by our contractor.

Why the hell did the contractors, who were appointed and authorized by the Hammerrhoids to deal with the hawkers on cleaning and washing, bother to provide a quotation for their ‘Special Service’ if it is allegedly to be free and easy???!!!

We reiterate that no authorized TC staff told any hawker or anyone of any additional charges to be imposed for the cleaning.

Claiming that their authorized contractors are ‘not authorized TC staff’ is simply stretching the truth too far. The Hammerrhoids are again mocking the intelligence of the hawkers.


And of course, ‘nothing further was heard by our contractor.’

Although the hawkers are not as highly educated as the elitist Hammerrhoid professionals nor are they as loaded as the Hammerrhoid Towkays, they are not as stupid as the Hammerrhoids imagining them to be and who can be easily conned and cheated.

The quotation provided by the Hammerrhoid contractors to the hawkers was $7,200 The Hammerrhoids are deviously and outrageously overcharging the hawkers thinking that they are only too dumb to be fooled.

The hawkers simply walked off and got an offer that is much cheaper. Acccording to report, each hawker paid $140 for that kind of ‘Special Service’ from a non-Hammerrhoid contractor, which can only be performed by the Hammerrhoids if the hawkers could match their contractor’s quotation. So for approximately 40 hawkers in the market, this worked out to be $5,600……over 20% cheaper than the ‘Special Service’ offered by the Hammerrhoids!!!

It is a disgrace and scandalous that Hammerrhoids are taking every opportunity to squeeze the hawkers dry.

These bunch of hawkers should move to a PAP-ward. Then they can appreciate how good they have it under the WP.
