You know PAP implements policies like nobody business because there are no checks and balances amongst the parliament. They think their policies are always right.
WP must come back to earth to understand what the purpose of them being voted into parliament is. In other words, ---what is your purpose in the parliament?
We all know PAP MPs have empty hours; they have the world of time to bicker over pennies! Do you WP MPs want to be so useless? Think about it!
The reason you WP MPs got voted into parliament is to act for the people, period.
When you WP MPs act for the people, you in turn win more hearts and gain more ground the next GE. This is the very basic politics you know much earlier in time.
In the Chinese dictum—when gain a little, you germanely work to gain more ground for the greatest good!
WP chief said WP will be co-driver but it fails badly to become one because WP is too engrossed with petty issues not related to National issues. Instead you become car-wash man.
As a good opposition party, when you are so involved in argument with PAP of some petty issues that you struggle to save yourselves, the consequence is Singaporeans suffer as a collateral damage because the harsh policies remain unchallenged , the subject to table on high cost of living becomes distant. So you WP MPs think about it, are you useful as whole in the parliament for the last few years?
Running Town council is a gutter politics but what choice do you have? Do you people ever suggest that PAP Town councils, their Accounts must be audited by independent auditors and make public? Wonder why you are always on defense mode when you need to offend in time of need?
WP, the main reason you are being trampled in the parliament is because you are not speaking up in the right tone for the people. You are not suggesting any good ideas or proposing any good policies to counter those rotten ones good for the people.
WP, you have no confidence in the parliament, and you try to play along with the PAP only to get hurt badly when you are challenged. This is the gist.
When you WP MPs are not speaking up or pushing the PAP to change policies, you WP MPs become pathetic. PAP then sees your weakness and hammers you on small issues that make you look like fools. As you are now …so to speak.
You see, if you WP MPs struggle to fight back on bad policies like you frantically defending your stand on account saga, it becomes meaningful to the people and country, you gain merit thus!
WP, your supporters do not wish to see you keeping up quarrel with PAP on issues that do not improve or better their life quality.
MRT is bunching, traffic jams are getting worse, living costs, etc,etc, are getting out of hands, there are simply too much to bear. Your existence, WP, in the parliament seems to be inconspicuous. Why are you in a nonchalant mode as Oppo MPs?
Lastly, for the sake of the your supporters , do something meaningful and productive in the parliament . Cultivate confidence within, and start doing the right thing in the parliament. The choice is yours ---you either stand up for the people , and too stand up for yourselves or drown yourselves, dispirit your supporters in a personal cat-fight with the PAP bastards.
When WP displays its usefulness, resourcefulness and confidence in the parliament, all forces will come to your assistance, universe will help you, more people will come to you with temerity. Think again, winning a GRC in the land of politicking hooligans , you are already one step in the thousand-mile purposeful journey. Singaporeans are hoping for that light to shine once more in the land of darkness. So, be that light and be that hope.
GE is nigh , Parliament is a sacred place for lawmakers to decide making life better or bad for the people, and not a market place for squealing, WP must learn now and fast to speak up for the people, this is your only chance to let people know you are MPs for the people for the country.
