As for your question on Singaporeans being jolted by "radical" thinking, the word "radical" is a misnomer. If anything, the present "thinking" of the mainstream media is an utter anomly in first world democratic societies. No offence to you, but the journalistic standard of our local papers is really horrendous even when compared to the Soviet Union's Pravda. There is absolutely zero processing or analysis other than mere regurgitation of the official stance and spinning of stories to influence perception.
Since you ask us the question, now tell us what do you mean by "radical thinking" ? Any "thinking" that is against the PAP ? We feel Singaporeans should be exposed to alternative independent views and be allowed to think critically instead of being "brainwashed". It is not about being pro or anti-PAP. It is about reporting the truth objectively with as little bias as possible. Of course it would be better if the mainstream media reforms itself and permits more independent coverage on local politics which will surely improve its current 147th ranking on Reporters Sans Frontiers' World Press Freedom index.
