Singapore was once a manufacturing hub backed in 1970s because of cheap labours with young aged group population and new manufacturing technologies and products created.

And look at now... no eye see... lost the manufacturing sectors to China and now Vietnam.

Vietnam will lose the manufacturing sectors in 15 to 20 years time and withered away into darkness once the population aged...

they dont have heavy duty engineering capacity industries like steel and iron melting furnaces to support heavy industries to take them to higher level like ship buildings, steels, excavations and trucks industries ... China has 11 steel melting furnaces to make heavy duty products make raw iron powders into steel products to make/ build mega infrastructural projects like HSR, buildings, ships, gunboats, IT..

Vietnam is just an assembly plants economy to assemble parts together and packaging ready to export to the dirty West looking for cheap labours in SEA..

Once the Vietnam population ages and low birth rate its the end of their economy going downhill and passing by .... and become a service economy like Singapore... IT and finance... jiakleowbee...

China, japan, germany, south korea have hubs. If they plan a steel making hub, they make sure everything is within a short distance away, from ports to coal/lng storage or mines, steel furnace plants, steel pressing plants, workers quarters........all within one area.
US does not have this thus they lose out on efficiency.
