Two arrested for thefts at Orchard and Novena malls

SINGAPORE: Police have arrested a 39-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman for their suspected involvement in a series of thefts at malls at Orchard Road and Novena.
Since July, police have received several reports of stolen luxury items such as bags, wallets, and sunglasses. The suspects were arrested on Thursday (Nov 13) in a residential unit in Sembawang.
More than 100 items - including branded handbags and sunglasses - with a value of more than S$30,000 were recovered from them.
The suspects will be charged in court on Saturday. If found guilty, they face up to seven years' jail and a fine.
