'Syringe robber' arrested <!--10 min-->

A 32-YEAR-OLD-MAN man who used a syringe to threaten and rob his victims was arrested on Friday. The suspect is believed to have robbed two young students on Tuesday and Wednesday of a handphone and cash amounting to $94 by threatening them with a syringe. Following extensive enquiries and investigations, officers from Ang Mo Kio Police Division conducted several operations in the vicinity of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 5. Their efforts paid off on Friday at about 12.30 pm, when they spotted a person matching the description of the suspect provided by the victims along the walkway of Block 532 Ang Mo Kio Ave 5. The suspect will be charged in court on Saturday for robbery which carries a maximum of 14 years jail.
