To be accurate these HPB food label symbols should be termed 'less unhealthy choice' since that is exactly what they mean.

To call them healthier choices is to DECEIVE Singaporeans about the actually classification since in fact they are just 'less unhealthy choice' amongst food choices.

Also, the healthiest choices of food are probably the raw fruits, vegetables and other fresh food (perishible/ frozen raw food) products which are to be home cooked and also unprocessed and without added preservatives. HPB should give bonus points and rebates to those who buy these products rather than be a mouthpiece / puppet for food industry companies to promote their 'less unhealthy choice' foods; rather than their current bogus promotion of 'healthier processed foods' which is mostly just a veiled promotion of local food industry/ major grocery store chains and thus ultimately a squander / misuse of tax payers money https://www.healthhub.sg/programmes/136/eat-drink-shop-healthy-challenge.

Even a study by Dr Li Xiuping as referenced in Straits Times https://www.straitstimes.com/opinion/the-pros-and-cons-of-food-labelling-for-healthy-choices showed that the HPB healthier choice symbol was very misleading and instead encouraged unhealthy dietary habits amongst students who were easily misled by the symbol.

HPB should stop being dishonest / misleading about food labels and be honest to consumers about what they are eating. HPB should stop using euphemisms/ fake / deceptive classification instead be exact and accurate about their symbols and admit that the true definition of the current 'healthier choice' symbol should instead be defined as 'LESS UNHEALTHY CHOICE' or in the alternative, 'healthier choice amongst UNHEALTHY food types to begin with' definition.
