The woman driver's fault for budging into cyclist when car turned left as cyclist wanted to go straight. Drivers should learn to give way to cyclist as They have the right to use the road. This race bikes are quite fast and its not like those raleigh bicycles that were slow.
Come to think of it, muud brain like yours are quite intelligent.. You really talking sense! LOL

The driver did not commit any wrong when she filtered to make the left turn at Still Road South into East Coast Road because her vehicle is well ahead of the cyclist. It's the cyclist who is the troublemaker.

No way jose. Before you make the turn, you should ensure the lanes are clear. In this case, the cyclist was going straight ahead but was forced to turn left to avoid colliding with her car.

Cyclists should slow down as they approach traffic junctions and turns.
They are entitled and reckless if they expect all vehicles to give way to them.

The point is, these stupid cheap car drivers have no clue our 20k bike is much faster than their crawling Honda.

Review the video carefully again between the 8s and 11s timeline. The cyclist was on the side of the road kerb even after the dash lines to go straight ahead. If she had wanted to go straight, she will have to look at her rear and if there is no on-coming vehicle, she should follow the dash lines in order to "signal" to her rear driver that she intends to go straight instead of turning left. This is what a good cyclist, including myself, will always do when approaching a junction. If she had wanted to turn left, then there is no need to check back.

This is also why I always emphasize to make it compulsory for all cyclists to pass the highway code theory test and thereafter be given a cyclist license prior to being allowed on the road.

Besides, when the vehicle overtook the cyclist, the vehicle was at least more than 5 meters ahead of the cyclist, so how would the cyclist collide with the vehicle?

Nope. Car should slow down behind her before turning left. Most car drivers budge into cyclist or motorcyclist due to its size. The driver in this case seems to turn left at the last moment as she was on the middle lane. There was snother car behind cyclist turning left too. That car followed proper procedure.

At the end of the day, it will be the cyclist who is on the losing side as a collision will only cause injury to the cyclist, but none to the driver. So, it is prudent for all cyclists to practice self-defense road awareness for the good of themselves. As I've said before, cyclists going straight must always check back when approaching such road junctions to make sure that they don't collide with left turning vehicles.

The driver was from middle lane into straight left. Cyclist already did the right thing by avoiding a collision.

Bro, from the start of the video, the cam car was on the leftmost lane. Where was it ever in the middle lane? Are you ok or there's something wrong with your eyes?

And when it comes to that stretch of East Coast Road between Still Road and Joo Chiat Road, I am always against roadside coupon parking along that stretch because it is only a very narrow 2-lane carriage way and coupled with the bus stops and the concrete center divider, this road will become passable only on the outer lane whenever there are buses plying. However, since it is located in an elite area, where I also frequent and used to cycling there, there is no intervention by the bloody LTA and they just close a blind eye to this discrepancy.
