There he goes again. Unable to win support from even his own UMNO members, many of whom view him as a pariah to be banished forever from the shores of Malaysia, Dr Mahathir Mohamad has set his sights across the causeway at his “unfortunate” brethen in Singapore.

In an article entitled “Malay unity and Malaysian unity” (point 21) published on his blog, chedet, Dr Mahathir took a snipe at the “plight” of Singapore Malays:

“The Malays have seen what has happened to the Malays of Singapore and they have no desire to be like Singapore Malays.”

It is most unbecoming for a foreign statesman to keep interfering in our domestic affairs. Dr Mahathir’s insinuations that the Malays in Singapore are second class citizens as compared to the state of the Chinese in Malaysia are totally unfounded, baseless and malicious.

Had a Singaporean make the following remarks on a blog or forum, he will be charged under the Sedition Act or arrested under the ISA immediately.

I've been waiting for an opportunity like this for quite some time. So what else is new for the eternal recalcitrant. MM is like our own MM, only capable of singing the same own refrain.
What's so bad about how our Singaporeon Malays are faring? If we are willing to see it as it is and not resist the facts, you'll find that they had progressed way beyond what their brethren across the causeway had achieved and without affirmative action to boot.
I had the opportunities to have many friendly chats with our Malay S'poreons from all walks of life in the course of my work and I realised the common stereotype of them as not hardworking and industrious is way out of date, so much so that I've arrived at the conclusion that One S'poreon Malay's output in work capacity is equivalent to three of the Malaysian's. And this is across the board from the food court assistant to the professionals.
Take the opportunity to observe the vehicles at the traffic stops. See how many cars are driven by Malays, tudunged or otherwise. And they own those cars with their own money, through their own efforts, with no bumiputra policies involved. You Mahathir think you can do better with your own people? then explain why the party, mostly intact from your administration is fighting for it's very existence now? You had failed them, your people, so shut the fuck up about our own.We may have our differences with each other, but we know how and when to compromise. We started together and our fates are intertwined. That will never change.

When we are talking politics of singapore and also malaysia, it's pointless to talk about racial lines at this point of time and even after isa abolished.

It's very important to just do the talking of issues politics to ensure real political stability in these two countries prevail.:smile::smile:

Yeah, fortunately though there is no such nonsensical racial politics in Singapore. Though I hate the PAP, I must admit they do did something right like in this case. Imagine we have goons out there calling one race squatters.

it has usually been the case that a majority government will discriminate against the minorities and often this is true for those calling the kettle black

unlike Dr M, I have no knowledge on the psyche of the Singapore Malays.

but at an objective level, the Singapore Malays certainly are in a better economic position than malays elsewhere

this is certainly not an easy matter to manage and the PAP does it well

Racial politics are a thing of the past. More and more Malays are supporting the PAP. Its the votes of the other races which PAP has been losing over the years.
