A CUSTOMER service officer of Woodlands Wellington Football Club disabled a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera by spraying paint on its lens.
Philip Foo Jian Loong then broke into the 4D booth of the Woodlands Stadium.
However, the burglar alarm went off. Before police could arrive, the 27-year-old fled with $200 he found in a drawer of a table. On Friday, he was jailed a year for burglary and for an earlier offence of misappropriating $14,600 from the club.
According to court documents, Foo returned to his workplace at about 11.30pm on July 25, 2010 with spray paint and bolt cutters. After disabling the CCTV camera with red paint, he cut the padlock.
He had the keys to the gate and the door to the 4D booth, but was unable to find the burglar alarm. Although he was able to get away, Foo tried to break in again on the night of Aug 8, 2010. This time, he failed.

Foo was also discovered to have been siphoning money amounting to $14,600 from April to July 2010 when he was manning the counter of the jackpot room. He did this by inflating the winnings of the players on claim vouchers and pocketing the difference.
Pleading for a light sentence, defence counsel Amarick Gill said that Foo has been diagnosed by the Institute of Mental Health as a pathological gambler who is also suffering from alcohol addiction.
