PMD Ban on footpaths shows the present Govt not trustworthy.

This is not about siding the PMD users or supporting those 66k persons who signed petition against the PMD(a lot of votes)
The blame is on the people who works under the Govt whom allowed these mobile machines to be on the footpaths and walkways. Did these Govt people consider the infrastructure, the dangers of the speed, the safety of the citizens sharing the same walkways ? All these issues should have been discussed thoroughly before they were let in.

Many things happened when these machines started to hit the footpaths. First , food delivery companies abused it, the riders working on jobs earn on the number- gain delivery--speed is money; safety is not their business. These riders have become lazy , sweating on the bicycles is out of the question. Its too late to switch since they knew PMD is the right lazy tool. There will be no end to it dealing with these people with or without grants, after all 66K vs 7k riders, the political stand is a slam dunk
.

Generally, many PMD users are ill-mannered , most of them have no proper jobs, the only way for these so-called Poor to earn quick money in Singapore is about more quick deliveries. So sending food and driving Grab become an overnight sensation. Locals are chasing these dreams beside queuing at the 4D counters. The PMD is wholly abused. The stressful pedestrians are just victims of the circumstance.

The petition culminates a Ban on the PMD is no heroic measure to save life, people against the PMD must not be carried away thinking PAP has done the right thing. All these things should not have happened if due diligence was given in the first place.
Lately ,the old wise man had said local Singaporeans are third- world class people but third world jobs in Singapore are taken up by cheap foreign labor who get rich on exchange rates, so what you want them to do, be postmen or post women on $1500 per month and a measly workfare supplement ? Upgrade their skill to compete with CECA IT warriors?
PMD Ban is no hero of PAP, let alone sympathy for the riders. The people who signed petition against the PMD should also think thrice before complimenting the PAP action on the ban.

PAP should openly apologize to Singaporeans on the PMD saga. PMD ban on footpaths must be a permanent damage control until such time when the massive infrastructure is put in place.

Think about it, if this PMD on the footpaths supposed to be a simple task is a wrong decision after real life problems surfaces , what else could happen , unbridled immigration, the CECA, the 6.9 million? Mind you, these unpopular policies can cause eternal destruction to Singapore if later found to be wrong decisions.

This is my personal opinion. If Doctor Tan is reading, please help Singapore to be great again!! Look at the PMD ban saga, the educated and uneducated local Singaporeans are already displaced.

Agree with you totally. PMD saga is only one example to show that our so call one-million salary personnel, scholar or the smartest of the whole Singaporean is actually worst than any one of us here. Many policy is basically following the west blindly. When the west say global economic, we follow, when the west say band cigarate, we band nearly the whole Orchard road (I am not a smoker), these are just example. We will faced the wrong did by all these scholar soon, it is time we vote for people whom really know what is our humble family need and not someone talks about how to put Singapore on the world map. Whats wrong with protecting and ensure Singaporean has upper hand than those foreign talent (not foreign worker PAP, we are talking about those that snatch job from our ITE, Poly and uni-grad) please remember these are the people that vote for you and its your duty to ensure our benefits and not for us to pay you to consider the well being of foreigner. If Singapore has the infrastructure as what our government claimed than why we still need to bow to foreign investor or foreign talent. we are no longer in the 70's where we are just a fishing village.

We have so many scholars in our government service, we have so many million dollar income minister during the pass of this law and yet no one is able to put in a sound enough control in safety for the PMD, the user and the citizen on foot ? No existing safety standard and Singapore with population of over 4-million not able to come out with one ? Since no safety standard to guide why the rush to allow it ? Because the west is not controlling it therefore we have to follow ? Our minister still think we are a finish village and therefore whatever in the west we must adopt or we must now to.
