Pepsi Phone P1s has been officially announced in China. Yes, soft drinks manufacturer Pepsi has entered the already overcrowded smartphone industry. Lets take a look at the specifications of the Pepsi phablet.

Pepsi Phone P1s Specifications


The Pepsi Phone P1s features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD 2.5D curved screen display. It is powered by a 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor along with Mali 450-MP4 GPU. It has 2 GB of RAM and comes with 16 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded via microSD card. The device runs on dido OS 6.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out of the box. The phone has a unibody design made up of aluminium alloy.

The Pepsi P1s comes with a 13 megapixel rear primary camera with LED flash. On the front, it has a 5 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. The phablet supports Hybrid Dual SIM (nano) where the second SIM slot can be used as a microSD card slot and it comes with 3.5 mm audio jack. It is 7.7 mm thick and weighs 158 grams. We also get a fingerprint sensor at the back below the primary rear camera.

The P1s includes 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS as connectivity options. The phablet packs in a 3,000 mAh battery under the hood. The standard variant of the phone is known as P1 and the China Unicom version with FDD-LTE support is known as P1s. Actually, Pepsi is just licensing its brand name but the phone will be manufactured by Shenzhen Scooby Communication Equipment Co. Ltd.

The Pepsi Phone P1s is available in Gold, Silver and Blue color variants and can be ordered via a crowdfunding campaign on jd.com. There was an early bid offer of CNY 499 but that is now sold out. However, you can book one at CNY 699 (US $110 / INR Rs 7,244 approximately), but this is also limited to just 1000 users. The box will include a USB cable, charger and a protective cover as well. Pepsi aims to collect CNY 3,000,000 (US $469,939 approximately) by December 3.
