Mother cuts off son's fingers

A woman in Shanghai was detained after she cut off her son's fingers during a fight with her husband, local police said on Friday.
The woman, surnamed Sun, chopped three fingers off her eight-year-old son when she was quarrelling with her husband over trivial things on Wednesday afternoon, according to the public security bureau in Qingpu District.
Further investigation is under way.
