Manager falls to his death from the 12th floor
JOHOR BARU: An operations manager fell to his death while climbing the balcony wall of his 12th storey apartment unit near Taman Delima. Amarjit Singh Kalwant Singh, 33, died on the spot after falling off the wall and onto a parking lot of the apartment complex at 4.30pm on Wednesday.
Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Zainuddin Yaacob said initial investigations showed that Amarjit had gone out for drinks with his friends at Taman Tan Sri Yaacob in the afternoon. “He came home at about 4pm and continued to drink,” he said, adding that Amarjit’s wife and a friend were in the apartment at the time.
ACP Zainuddin said Amarjit then climbed onto the balcony and lost his balance. “The victim’s wife and friend tried to stop him but he fell,” he said, adding that the body was brought to the Sultan Ismail Hospital for post-mortem. “We have ruled out foul play,” he said, adding that the case had been classified as sudden death.
