Man pleads guilty to maid abuse

SINGAPORE: A 41-year-old man has pleaded guilty to punching and slapping his maid when she did not iron his trousers immediately after he asked her to do so.
Wong Teck Cheng faced five charges of hurting Ms Lauron Jennifer Baoy.
The prosecution proceeded with one charge.
On July 4, 2011 at about 12pm, Wong punched Ms Lauron's arm and slapped her twice.
The beating left Ms Lauron with bruises on her right arm.
Wong's case will be heard again on 25 February.
He is out on bail of S$8,000.
