Lucky rare cancer patient strike lottery after fighting cancer for 7 years

全身上下多处查出恶性肿瘤，23岁的郭子航在抗癌的七年里，不仅顺利完成大学学业，还与父亲一同研究生意经，创办餐饮店。在多年锲而不舍“尝百药”后，他终于寻得药到病除的良方，癌细胞奇迹般地消失了。

2017年，郭子航在中学常规身体检查中发现他的颈部有肿块、脊柱也有侧弯迹象后，到医院做了一系列的扫描，最终确诊为炎性肌纤维母细胞瘤（Inflammatory Myofibroblastic Tumor, 简称IMT）晚期。

这个极其罕见的癌症的发病率少于100万分之一，且身体多个部位都会出现恶性肿瘤。郭子航的颈部、腹部和大腿都有肿瘤。

多年来，他接受了多轮激酶抑制剂（kinase inhibitors）和类固醇（steroids）治疗，但病情总是反反复复，饱受药物副作用困扰。

2022年，郭子航的肿瘤继续增大，新加坡国立大学癌症中心肿瘤血液科顾问医生阿南德（Anand Jeyasekharan）对他进行了基因测序，发现本用于第四期肺癌的口服药色瑞替尼（Ceritinib）能够有效消除癌细胞。

郭子航从去年6月起开始服药，三个月后复查时，体内竟然未检测出任何癌细胞。

阿南德指出，该药物在癌症药物清单之列，这是全球学界第一次发现这个药物可以用来治疗他这个亚型的IMT。“医疗团队非常惊讶且欣喜，希望他在今年复查时，也能维持现状。”

After three months, Mr Keh's tumours vanished and could no longer be detected on scans.
