Loanshark runner arrested

A MAN suspected to be involved in loanshark harassment cases islandwide was arested by the police last Friday at Hougang Ave 1. Officers patrolling the area held the 43-year-old as they found him to be behaving suspiciously.

Checks revealed that he was carrying loan shark-related paraphernalia and several handphones containing debtors' records.

The suspect is believed to be a debtor-turned-runner involved in loan shark harassment cases in Choa Chu Kang, Eunos, Bedok, Ang Mo Kio and Hougang. He was charged in Court on Saturday under the 2010 revised edition of the Moneylenders Act.
