Background: "Singapore’s prime minister personally sues critic for sharing article on Facebook", https://www.scmp.com/news/asia/sout...prime-minister-personally-sues-critic-sharing

All these years Leong Sze Hian criticised the Sinkie gabrament using elaborate charts and figures and all the while CNA (Chief Natural Aristocrat) was embarrassed by his actions. According to reliable sources, Leong had been CNA's target since the last general election.

The golden opportunity for CNA to strike Leong hard arose when the latter shared a Facebook post. CNA wants to make full use of this incident to ensure that Leong's integrity as a reliable and trustworthy critic of the Sinkie gabrament will be impugned forever. In other words, following the obvious legal victory of CNA over Leong, whatever the latter posts on his own site, blog or Facebook is deemed fake news.

But the above is not the gist of my post.

Facebook has never been and will never be a champion of free speech for activists of all persuasions. Ditto for all other social media platforms. Their corporate mission is to increase stockholders' wealth (read: sell users' data to earn big bucks.)

Leong made the same mistake as the person behind The State Times Review: they both used Facebook to air their views.

SBF is pretty much the last bastion of free speech
