There were 31,713 citizen births in 2021, a slight decrease from the 31,816 in 2020. The number of citizens increased by 1.6 per cent with new citizenship being granted, from 3.5 million in June 2021 to 3.55 million in June. For PRs, the increase was 6.3 per cent over the same period, from 490,000 to 520,000.
