Nebraska coach suspended for affair with his player
Two key figures from Nebraska’s women’s basketball team made their exits this week, prompting a series of rumors regarding potential causes.
Early Saturday the program announced that associate head coach Chuck Love had been suspended with pay over a “personal matter.” Shortly thereafter sharpshooting staring guard Ashley Scoggin disappeared from the online lineup.
The Omaha World Herald later confirmed that Scoggin’s removal was not a mistake.
While all of this unfolded over the weekend, it is worth remembering that Scoggin also missed Nebraska’s showdown against Penn State this past Thursday. She made the trip and no excuse was offered for her absence, but she was not on the bench with the squad.
What made this particularly odd was the fact that, prior to this specific outing, she had started in 51 consecutive games.
