HTC One M9+ Aurora Edition Specs Listed By AnTuTu – UPDATED

UPDATE: Well, folks, the “updated” HTC One M9+ has been officially announced as the “Aurora Edition”. All the specs listed below have been confirmed along with laser auto-focus. The smartphone also comes with a dual-LED, dual tone flash.

According to the latest rumor and reports, HTC will announce (probably today) an updated version of its HTC One M9+ and the international version of the HTC Butterfly 3.

Well, today, after making the hardware specs of the HTC One A9 public, the guys from AnTuTU have also shared the hardware specs of the updated M9+ (codenamed M9PX).

Take a look below.

HTC M9+ Specs Revealed by AnTuTu

By the looks of it, the new HTC One M9+ is nearly identical to the original model released earlier this year. It sports a MediaTek MT6795T (Helio X10) SoC with eight CPU cores clocked at 2.2 GHz each, a PowerVR G6200 graphics chip, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. It also packs a 5.2-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440, resulting in a pixel density of roughly 565 ppi.

However the new model’s camera combo might differ from that of the original M9+, and could ditch the secondary rear-facing camera in favor of a single 21 MP unit. The front-facing sensor’s resolution also seems to have been bumped from 4 MP up to 5 MP.

Once again, like the M9+, the “M9PX” runs Android 5.0.2 Lollipop out of the box, and the OS will most likely be covered in HTC’s proprietary “Sense” user interface.

Whether or not the new One M9+ will differentiate itself by adding more features remains to be seen, and hopefully we’ll find out the details later today, following HTC’s unveiling event. Stay tuned.
