<p>According to a source close to Wang Peng Fei, 24, who posted a video online mocking Singaporeans, the Chinese national was on the first flight back to China yesterday. A police report was also lodged against him.

<br />For posting a video which <a href="http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sgseen/what_bugs_me/702522/foreigner_mocks_sporeans_in_long_video_rant_online.html" target="_blank">mocked Singaporeans</a> and included racist remarks, Wang had also been <a href="http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sgseen/caught_in_the_act/704244/chinese_national_24_expelled_for_insulting_sporeans_in_video.html" target="_blank">expelled</a> from the East Asia Institute of Management (EASB) where he was a final-year student studying hospitality. His student visa was also revoked, and he forfeited $10,000 in course fees.

<br />The source told The New Paper that Wang was "afraid of getting into legal trouble here. In fact, he was in a hurry to pack up his things on Monday night".

<br />In the news report (Jul 27), Alex Tan Zhixiang, 24, who is a member of the Reform Party, made a police report on Sunday as Wang had "made racist remarks" against a minority group. The police confirmed a report was lodged and are looking into the matter.

<br />A lawyer also told The New Paper that with the video Wang posted, the police would probably have issued a police gazette notification for Wang's arrest. He would be stopped at any checkpoint in Singapore and taken for investigations.

<br />"He is quite safe from arrest in China, which Singapore has no extradition treaty with. He will only get into trouble if he returns," added the lawyer.

<br />A professor from the National University of Singapore also expressed his views when contacted by The New Paper, saying EASB's reaction was "too drastic", especially after Wang's <a href="http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/stomp/sgseen/what_bugs_me/703286/chinese_national_mocked_sgreans_now_apologises_on_blog.html" target="_blank">apology</a>.
